It was with deep sadness that earlier today I learned of the passing of my great friend – Lord Mohamed Sheikh. He has for many years been a good friend and inspiration to me on a personal level and in business. He has selflessly given his time and energy to supporting and profiling the Asian Catering Federation and the Asian Curry Awards – impacting and improving the lives of thousands of workers in the Curry Industry. It is a particular honour to have been able to work with him and to have stood at his side as he attended innumerable functions in the aid of charity – particularly in the Muslim community. In parliament, he will be remembered for his unstinting support of the oppressed. He will be remembered across the Muslim community for his generosity of spirit and kindness.
