Restaurateur siblings Andrey and Anastasia Datsenko have acquired a second London site for their contemporary Japanese restaurant Taka. Following its success in Japan, the Datsenkos opened their debut London site, in Mayfair, in 2017.
They have now secured the site former premises of The Providores, in Marylebone, owned and chef Peter Gordon for 18 years with general manager Michael McGrath, of the Antipodean-style restaurant which closed in July after 18 years.
Taka offers a menu which includes tataki, tempura, salads, sashimi platters, inside-out rolls, and yakitori with cocktails featuring sake, Japanese whiskey and liqueurs.
The new Taka restaurant, set across 3,000 square foot over three-floors, is set to open in late Spring 2020.
