A new Thai restaurant is to open in Ashford town centre in Kent this month. Ben Godfrey is launching Po Thai the restaurant Thai in Park Street on the site of the former Press Rooms premises.
The restaurant “with authentic Thai decor” will serve a lunchtime menu and Thai tapas dishes.
Located next to thee new Panorma buidling will be the only Thai restaurant in the town, the closest being The Swan at Charing.
With other cuisines available nearby including Italian and Indian,Godfrey sees their location as a good thing for business: “North Street is almost becoming the food quarter of the town,” said Godfrey.
The building will keep its current mezzanine floor and function room, which already has interest for yoga classes, life coaching sessions and art work.
Once established, the team plans to run Thai cooking courses at the venue.
