Indian Hotel Group acquires 73 bed hotel

The 73-bedroom Clumber Park Hotel & Spa in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, has been acquired by Indian-based MGM Muthu Hotels, for c£7m.

 

Adjoining the National Trust’s 3,800-acre Clumber Park and near to Sherwood Forest, the hotel  becomes the third UK hotel for MGM Muthu, joining the 88-bedroom Belstead Brook hotel in Ipswich, which was acquired in 2014, and the 55-bedroom Westcliff hotel in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex (2015).

 

The purchase of Clumber Park was funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

 

MGM Muthu Hotels, which has hotels in India, Spain, Portugal, France, Cuba and Madeira, as well as the UK, said that it intends to buy more hotels in the UK.
