Michelin-listed and former Asian Curry Awards winner Grand Trunk Road on the East London/Essex margins has appointed Arup Dasgupta, as its new Head Chef. Dasgupta replaces Daya Sharma has has opened Dulwich Heritage in South London.
Chef Dasgupta who is skilled in Western, Classical Indian a variety of Asian cuisines, and has worked at exclusive Michelin-starred
eateries in the French Riviera and top London hotels, including sThe Lalit’s Pan Indian Baluchi.
Since opening in 2016, Grand Trunk Road has become renowned for fusing ancient dishes with traditional cooking method uisng recipes
collated from the legendary trade route over the centuries.
Chef Dasgupta will introduce new dishes including Stone Bass marinated with light Kasundi mustard & coconut, steamed and served with pickled fennel salad, the Lahori Chicken Kebab, with roasted garlic and crushed spices with mint & coriander chutney, and the Five-spice chocolate cake with Orange & lime Ice Cream.
An Eight Course tasting menu will be introduced in the near future.
