The Indian Hotel Company (IHC) is to open a 108-bedroom property at London’s Heathrow Airport which will operate under its brand Vivanta.
Set to open in 2021, the hotel will be built on a greenfield site close to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 in partnership with developer Hayre Group.
The hotel will become the third in London for IHC which already operates two properties in the capital under its luxury Taj brand: the 313-bedroom St James’ Court and the 85-bedroom Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, both located between Victoria and Westminster.
Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and chief executive at IHC, said, “IHCL was the first Indian hospitality company to foray into the United Kingdom with the iconic St. James’ Court hotel in 1982. Today, we are proud to partner with Hayre Group Limited in bringing the first Vivanta branded hotel to London. This signing is in line with our growth strategy of adding hotels in key locations globally.”
The new Vivanta hotel will feature the fourth outpost of the Bombay Brasserie brand, alongside an all-day diner, bar, lounge, gym and banqueting rooms.
Founded in 1903 with the opening of the Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay, IHC is one of India’s largest hospitality companies which today operates 170 hotel including 25 under development across 12 countries. Alongside Taj and Vivanta, IHC also operates the budget Ginger brand.
