Spitalfields Healthy Indian

10th June 2017

Street Feast resident Rola Wala is to open its debut London site in Spitalfields.  The restaurant will offer a menu of healthy everyday Indian fast food, including handmade sourdough naan rolls and seasonal grain bowls. Meaning ‘man that rolls’ in Hindi, Rola Wala’s menu is inspired by founder Mark Wright’s travels around India, including the Bombay beaches, Kolkata street markets and Keralan waterways.  Every naan roll sold will give a child living in poverty a free school meal, through Rola Wala’s partnership with One Feeds Two.

Guests order by choosing either a rolled sourdough naan, khicheree masala black bean noodles and charred broccoli, or cauliflower rice and kale, before adding one of the Twisted Indian fillings and chutney. Guests can also choose their preferred spice level.

To stay refreshed, Rola Wala will offer soft drinks, including its own brand of mango, lime and turmeric sodas made in collaboration with Square Root in Hackney, as well as craft beer and wine.

Design features will include timber cladding, pendant lighting, scaffold polls and metal shelving stocked with spice jars.   Seating will consist of two rows of high metal stools.
