Wirral-based Silk Rd, the restaurant concept inspired by the Silk Road trail, is planning to build a seven-strong estate as it prepares to open a fourth site. Silk Rd has doubled its presence in Liverpool city by launching a in Hope Street on Wednesday to join its Beetham Plaza outlet. Founders Chris Williams and Javier Mellado have invested more than £200,000 in the new restaurant, employing 25 staff.

“Having established our business in the heart of the business district it’s great to expand into Hope Street. It’s an exciting time to run a small and independent group of restaurants in the north west and we have plans to grow to seven in the coming years,” said Williams.

Williams and Mellado opened the debut Silk Rd in Heswall in July 2017.  They also have a site in Bramhall in Manchester.
